Hello Everyone
And as always, a very warm welcome from us all here at IFS.
As the subject title alludes, this is now issue twelve of the quarterly email we circulate. Which would mean we have been sending these out for three years now! When we began this journey, the intention was to purposely have a title ‘All Thing’s IFS’ in order to communicate and educate in the world of finances, as well as being as human as possible and telling everyone a little bit more about who we are and what we do.
Looking back, I think we’ve made a good job of spreading the financial word, so with this in mind, I’m going to be a little indulgent in this issue.
Wills, Estates and Funeral Plans
As some of you may already be aware, sadly I lost my Dad at the beginning of May. Peter Woolley reached the age of 79, and after a short illness and his last eight days spent in a hospital bed, we are comforted by the fact that in the end he passed peacefully and quietly in his sleep. We laid him to rest last Friday, a private service followed by a couple of drink’s to his memory. The last four weeks have been filled with making arrangements, as well as a week’s holiday in Jamaica which had been planned for a long time.
To his credit, my Dad had put his affairs in order many years ago, and as such he made it extremely easy for me. He had a Will, as well as a funeral plan. He wasn’t a particularly rich man, so we didn’t really have to worry too much about his finances nor consider the value of his Estate for financial planning. I would encourage everyone to be like Pete, regardless of how old you are now, whether you have children or not, just put your house in order please. If anyone needs an introduction to do this, as always I would be happy to oblige.
It’s probably not coming home, is it
Yep, it’s that Summer where we all get our hopes up and hope that the sixty years of hurt will finally be behind us. The World Cup. Of course, football is one of my greatest passions, and I have The Woollidge Arms here in front of the office all set up for the football. Late kick off’s aren’t ideal, nor will the heat be for the players, and fans there. And with there being forty eight countries there represented this time, I’m sure not even I as an avid football fan will be wanting to watch them all. But we live in hope, so I hope you all too enjoy this festival of football whenever and wherever you choose to watch or listen to it.
Kirsty Woolley
Otherwise also known as my better half. I’m going to blow her trumpet here a bit, and introduce you to a passion and talent of her’s, namely singing. Go to her Instagram page kirstyleemusic for a flavour of her talent. #proudhusband
Markets
it would be amiss of me not to provide a summary of the financial markets. Last quarter’s email was written at the start of the US / Iran conflict, which still seems to be chugging along. As we speak, the initial downturn appears to have recovered, and some. Inflation seems to be falling, however with this I’m reading more and more articles saying that this could result in an increase to interest rates. As always, watch this space, I will be, and any concerns please let me know.
If you’ve missed any of these emails, or you’d simply like to refresh your memories, these can be viewed at our website, link below to the very first one issued;
Finally, as always, a massive thank you from me. Particularly for this issue where I have demonstrated some self-indulgence.
